1. Mining Skill Guide
I. How to Start Mining
To start mining you'll need to purchase a "Bronze" or "Iron" pickaxe either from the "General Store" or from a Dwarf named "Nurmof"(located in the Mining Guild) who will sell all pickaxes from Bronze-Runite. Then you should head over to the "Skill Teleport" and select the "Mining Grounds" option from the menu. This will take you to the Mining Guild in Falador, where almost every ore type is available for mining excluding Runite and Silver.

II. Pickaxes
There are a wide assortment of pickaxes to choose from, and the better the material the pickaxe was made from, the faster you can collect ores. Which is always a good thing. These can all be purchased from Nurmof in the Mining Guild with the exception of the Dragon Pickaxe which can be bought at the General Store at "::home"
Iron Pickaxe - 140 Coins - Level 1 Required
Steel Pickaxe - 500 Coins - Level 6 Required

IV. How to mine Silver Ore
To mine Silver ore all you have to do is buy an Amulet of Glory(or some other form of Al Kharid transport) and head to the mine that is just north of the main city, this is where you'll find mine-able Silver rocks.

V. How to mine Runite Ore
To mine Runite ore you have to travel deep into The Wild(Level 44) by the Lava Maze, to which you'll find two Runite rocks ready to be mined. However exercise extreme caution here as there may be PKer's and the place is surrounded with Deadly Red Spiders, and Lesser Demons. I personally recommend taking off non-essential clothing/armor and run as fast as possible to the location.

VII. Mining at Living Rock Caverns
Living Rock Caverns
You can get a lot of mining done and gain a lot of mining experience at the Living Rock Caverns using "::lrc" and mining Mineral Deposits for gold/coal. Be careful tho, as there is high level monsters here, so there is a chance to die. There is also a Bank Deposit Box by the entrance to the caverns.

VIII. 1-99 Guide
Well the fastest possible way I can think of to getting to Level 99 would be to either mine Iron at low levels all the way to 99, or to mine coal till 99 once you can efficiently mine it. Using the "::empty" command to make it so you don't have to keep going to the bank, unless you have a "::bank" command then just use that. That's pretty much it, not a lot to say about mining, just get out there and start swinging those pickaxes!
Smithing Guide
I. How to start Smithing
To start the Smithing skill, you'll first need an ore(or ores) that you have the required level to process. So if your starting at Level 1, you'll need at least 1 Tin ore and 1 Copper ore to make one Bronze bar at a smelter. Then a hammer and a Anvil near by if you wish to turn that bar into armor or a weapon, you can purchase a hammer from the general store at "::home". Then just follow the rest of this guide to see what ores you need at what level to get to 99!

II. Locations
There are many locations at which you can practice your smithing skill, but the ones I would recommend is the one from the Skill Teleport NPC(Smithing/Smelting option) or using the same NPC to go to the Summoning area and buying pre-made bars and using the Anvil to the East of the summoning shop.

Bronze Bar - 1,116 XP - 2,250 XP/Bar Smithed
Iron Bar - 2,250 XP - 4,500 XP/Bar Smithed
Steel Bar - 3,150 XP - 6,750 XP/Bar Smithed
Mithril Bar - 5,400 XP - 9,000 XP /Bar Smithed
Adamant Bar - 6,750 XP - 11,250 XP/Bar Smithed
Runite Bar - 9,000 XP - 13,500 XP/Bar Smithed
Silver Bar - 2,246 XP
Gold Bar - 4,050 XP
Blurite Bar - 1,440 XP
III. Ways to Level 99
You can start off with the low level bars, sticking with Iron bars and smelting them to 99(fastest cheap method) or you can go another route and buy the pre-made bars from the Summoning Shop and use the higher level bars a lot more efficiently at an Anvil of your choice. My recommended way would be to stick with Iron bars till about level 70 start making Adamant Items till 85-90 then start using Runite till level 99. But really the ultimate choice is yours, because the truth of the matter is, your the one that has to do it so be sure to find some method that works for you, and if you find a WAY better method than I'm posting feel free to let me know about it, and I'll add it for the other players to see and make sure credit is given.
